SOUND HEALING w/RESTORATIVE YOGA
We will use blankets, bolsters, and pillows to comfortably support your body in various restful yoga postures (asana). Each asana will be held for a minimum of ten minutes to release muscular tension, flush out toxins, and allow the body’s natural relaxation response to melt the stress away. As you relax, we will bless the space with the sounds of drums, singing bowls, gongs, and chimes to allow you to go even deeper and aid in the body’s natural recovery processes. This workshop will provide you with a beautiful start to a weekend full of healing energy.
THE HEALING POWER OF MUSIC & MANTRA
We all know how good it feels to rock out to our favorite song on the radio, even if we don’t know the science behind it. Did you ever wish you could choose or plan to feel that sense of calm euphoria? Join Nicole & Mayleen of Unbounded/Rock & Soul Wellness and discover the healing effects of music for your mind, body, and soul. This class will briefly cover the history and benefits of chanting, mantra meditation, and group music. Then we will learn how to incorporate music and mantra into our personal practice using mantra meditation, chanting, and kirtan (call and response chanting as a group). Each participant will receive a handout with the information and mantras to take home. This participatory class will leave you feeling relaxed and uplifted for the opening of the retreat weekend.
